Good morning, how are you all today. It finally feels
like fall for me! The first drops of rain of the season is finally here, and the weather have felt a lot cooler lately. I am not sure if I am more excited to incorporate more warm toned colors to my look, or to be to layer jackets and sweaters without sweating in the heat. Sadly for most of us, this means its finally time to put away those summer outfits. Don't worry
tho', if you still reminiscing the summer heat, I'm here to help you
incorporate those summer pieces into the layering pieces of fall.
Outfit 1:
Now let me break this outfit down for you.
For the base of my outfit, I started out with this simple lace tank top. I originally found this piece at Ecothrift for about $2.99. Now this is a size large, but I couldn't bare passing it up. How do I make it work? The straps are far too long and the strings do not adjust. Simple. Snip the strings in half, and tie back together. You can do this with any of your basic tank tops that drape too low. As a proud member of the itty bitty titty committee, any top that cut too low does not work in my favor. But with this trick, it shows off just enough to flatter my petite body. I have done this with many of my slip dresses that are nonadjustable, and thanks to the lace up/self-tied tops trend, this makes it perfectly appropriate to wear on its own.

Step 2, throw on a jacket. Yup. It's that simple. Here in California, it is only chilly in the morning or at night. I like to find something where I can take off in the afternoon once the temperature warms up. I found this brown hooded jacket for $5 at my local Ecothrift. What a find. I usually try to give contrast to my outfit. If I am wearing a lot of black, I will throw on a different color into the mix to make everything stand out. My photographer, Haley, was kind enough to lend me these cool jewel toned geometric glasses. It really brought the look together. I paired these with my staple black heeled booties. Cuff up my jeans, and I'm out the door.
Outfit 2:
To be completely honest with you all, I NEVER thought I would ever pull out another pair of straight legged jeans after the "skinny jeans" era exploded. BUT as of lately, we have seen the push towards old school fashion trends. 90s grunge , chokers, crop tops, maxi skirts were all brought back in style. This past summer we have witnessed the boom of straight legged dress pants (what I liked to call "pinstripe pants) being brought back in style.
I found this pair of light washed straight legged pants and thought it was the perfect component to the look. I paired it with an oversized daisy soft knit sweater (Macys) and black lace bralette.
Thats it for this one. Hope you all like these looks.
See you in my next post :)
