Lets start off with what I decided to wear! As I was trying to decide, the thoughts going through my mind were:
1) I wanted to feel as comfortable as possible for the two hour drive down to the bay, and
2) I wanted to look cute, but still not freeze under the San Francisco breeze.
I went with a pair of high-waisted leggings, and a plain white tee, tied up into a knot to give it a more cropped look. Over that, I threw on my thick wool coat that I got for an amazing deal during Black Friday (stay tuned for my Black Friday/Cyber Monday Haul next week ;)) Together, this gave me a casual yet sophisticated look for my trip.
Next up, food! The first thing that comes to mind whenever I go to the pier is... clam chowder! I love the sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. Along with that, we had a side of fried calamari and shrimp with a dip of tartar sauce. yummm

Soon after, we just strolled along the streets of San Francisco. Here I met a couple of street performers who made the atmosphere super lively.
Magician- I had to mask his identity |
Other performers, were a lot more...questionable? It even sort of freaked me out. One of the street performer was literally a man hiding in the bush. No you did not hear that wrong, the bush. Whenever a small child walked by, he would jump out of the bush and scare the little children. I do not know how effective that performance is in getting him money, hope hes doing okay. To this day I still do not get what was going through his mind as he was planning out his act. Unfortunately I was not able to capture a photo (I do not think he would approve of me posting him on my blog), but if I could redraw what I witnessed, this was what I saw:

I have titled this masterpiece, "Scary Man in da Streets". |
After this experience, I was pretty much over all the walking around. My friend and I decided to get a drawing of us sitting together to keep as a memory for this trip. The man that drew our picture was an older gentleman, maybe in his 60s. I was wondering why he would go through the hassle of setting up a stand in the streets of San Francisco. The minute that he picked up his drawing brush however, I understood. I have never seen someone so happy to create art. He had such a bright smile on his face, and was delighted that we were willing to pay him for his art.
This is the drawing he drew of us, guess which one is me! |
I hope you all enjoyed this blog post.
See you next time,
